Welcome!

Welcome to my website which I am so excited to be launching!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my webpage and read my blog. As this is my first one I thought it would be good to talk a bit about myself and how I got to working in interior design and having my own business….eek that still sounds so unreal!

I studied Media Communications at university and then entered the world of administration, something I am good at because I am incredibly organised and efficient, if I do say so myself! I have worked at some interesting places in my admin career, most notably, Buckingham Palace and Great Ormond Street Hospital…..opposite ends of the spectrum in regards to interior décor!

After I had my children I wanted to be more present and not have to have the long commute to London from my home in Rochester, Kent so I took some time out of work. During this time we thought it would be a good idea to move from a perfectly decorated new build to a very dated, in need of renovation and TLC house with an 18 month old child! Despite the dust, the chaos and the mess, I thoroughly enjoyed planning the space, choosing colour schemes and selecting furniture for a home we designed together. I discovered a love of finding colours that worked together, textures to create depth and furniture which suited our style.

I started to get itchy feet, wanting to work but wanting to be around for my family and do something I really enjoy. My husband, an incredibly supportive person, encouraged me to consider what I really wanted to do, what I enjoy and said that while I wasn’t working this was the perfect time to go back to studying in a field I was interested in. One evening I realised that the majority of the television programmes I watched were home design and renovation programmes. My saved recordings were shows such as Location, Location, Location, Interior Design Masters, Love it or List It? and Your Home Made Perfect. When I thought about what I really enjoy doing, it was interior design.

I researched in depth about who I wanted to study with and after contacting other interior designers, The Interior Designers Hub and their amazing Diploma programme was recommended to me. Alongside looking after my 3 young children and working part time I completed my Level 3 Diploma. Whilst studying I learnt so much and finally felt like I had found what I am meant to be doing.

Since completing my Diploma I have focused on building my business and gaining new clients in residential family homes. I have recently just finished a nursery for a beautiful baby girl and am currently working with a lovely couple to design their bedroom in their new home. You can have a peek at the pictures of these in the portfolio section of my website. I will continue to add to my collection so please don’t be a stranger to my website, visit often and see what’s been happening!

If you would like any help in your home, whether it’s a point in the right direction or a full room design, please do not hesitate to contact me and see how I can help you.

Thank you so much for visiting my webpage and reading my blog, my next blog won’t be all about me I promose! I really hope you continue to follow my work as I have so much to show.
